Interior Designer, Furniture Dealer Designer

Job Summary
This role coordinates and implements the interior design, space planning and furniture specification process on various size projects and market segments, from initial programming and preliminary design concepts through design development, technical drawings and final installation drawings.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Program with Sales Team to identify scope of project and specific client needs.
Collaborate with project team and clients to develop conceptual designs, research special product needs and present solutions for design projects of varying complexities.
Aid in the preparation of project presentations including product & finish documents and renderings, schematic design, and presentation materials on small to medium size projects.
Develop furniture and space plans, working drawings, electrical & communications plans, product specifications and finishes/materials for client review.
Engage with vendors on product specifications and insights.
Create and coordinate material & finish schemes create final finish plans.
Act as a design resource to support sales staff in the completion of proposals & projects.
Participate in client meetings, along with Sales, to convey design solutions.
Perform site inspections, field verifications, inventory of furnishings and evaluation of product reuse.
Follow and maintain Acre Design Service Standards and Best Practice guidelines as well as knowledge of code compliance.
Utilize creative thinking and problem-solving skills to provide design solutions at all points of the interior design process.
Fulfill requirements of Designer training established by the Design Leadership.
Attend design/sales meetings and seminars within and outside the company for career self-development.
Develop and maintain personal creative quality professionalism, product knowledge, and establish good working relationships with company personnel and clients.
Efficient project schedule planning and time management.
Track design time by completing a detailed project log of all work performed in a time management system.
Strive for a productivity goal of 85% and low error rate to qualify for quarterly design incentive.
Partner with Architectural & Design firms and perform other interior design tasks as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree in Interior Design from an accredited program.
Working knowledge of the design profession and all its phases; from preliminary promotional activities through product installation and field observation.
Working knowledge of architectural and electrical plans and specifications and ability to coordinate with interior requirements (including lighting, acoustics, design details, plans and elevations).
Ability to ask questions to gain clarification on project scope, expectations, timing, etc.
Excellent communication skills needed to convey design concepts to other designers, Acre personnel, and clients.
Ability to effectively manage large workloads and work under heavy deadlines.
Ability to work with minimal supervision and adapt to varying environments, tasks, & people.
Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, Sketch-Up and Microsoft Office products.

Preferred Qualifications
3 -6 years experience in the commercial interior design field.
Proficient in AutoCAD, CET Designer or knowledge of REVIT and Microsoft Office products.
Strong working knowledge of Steelcase products or other top furniture manufacturers.
Knowledge of planning principles for systems furniture and furniture symbols library knowledge are highly preferred.
Physical/Mental Demands
This position can be performed while standing or sitting. Occasional bending, twisting, or reaching. The ability to climb stairs is required. Occasional lifting may be necessary up to 30 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and peripheral vision. The ability to talk, listen, read, and write are important functions of this job. Working Conditions
This is a hybrid position with a preference to be in the office during the onboarding process. Occasional travel required within the Metro area. Occasional out of state travel to attend Steelcase Product School, Neocon/Design Days, trade shows, and/or industry conferences.
